Nut-free school
Ingunnarskóli has students with severe nut allergies.
A person with a severe nut allergy does not even need to eat nuts to suffer an allergic reaction. Simply coming into contact with food that contains nuts — or interacting with someone who recently handled them — can trigger a serious, potentially life-threatening medical emergency.
Because of this risk, Ingunnarskóli has implemented a strict nut-free policy. This means no food brought into the school can contain nuts of any kind, including peanuts and tree nuts like pecans, cashews, and almonds.
Neither children nor staff may bring these items into the school. We urge parents to carefully double-check that their child's packed lunch is completely nut-free. Examples of prohibited items include nut-flavored yogurts, milk beverages with nut muesli, bread with nut butter, bags of nuts, all types of energy bars, most varieties of Corny bars, certain breakfast cereals, and similar products.
