Day of the Icelandic language

Day of the Icelandic language

This morning, we celebrated Icelandic Language Day together in the school hall. Icelandic Language Day is observed on November 16 each year to remind us to nurture our language.

Embla Bachmann, author and former Ingunnarskóli student, presented awards in the school's poetry and short story competition. The competition received a record number of entries this year. Awards were given for the best poem and story in the junior, middle, and senior levels. Three additional awards were presented: for the most beautiful poem, the saddest poem, and a special award for a promising author.

We concluded by singing together, accompanied by Snorri from 10th grade.
