Christmas chess tournament for grades 1-3 – Bronze for Ingunnarskóli
The Christmas chess tournament for primary school teams in grades 1-3 took place last weekend.
Ingunnarskóli sent two teams to compete, consisting of third-grade students.
Rimaskóli's A-team won first place, and Melaskóli's team came in second.
Ingunnarskóli's A-team secured third place with 18.5 wins, an excellent result. The team members were: Sophia Maria, Aníta Rút, Viktor Freyr, Eva Rún, and Halldór.
Ingunnarskóli's B-team finished 10th with 8.5 wins. Its members were: Róbert Elvar, Margrét Alda, Magnhildur Sara, Þórdís Hekla, and Elvar Jökull.
All Ingunnarskóli competitors performed well and were exemplary.
The A-team captain was Hrafnkell, Eva Rún's father, and the B-team captain was Gunnar, the chess teacher.
